不斷在創新的黑眼豆豆合唱團，2003年樂團亮出了全新力作《Elephunk放克大象》，此輯中團長在節奏鋪排上花盡巧思，像是請來超級男孩合唱團單飛巨星賈斯汀（Justin Timberlake）友情獻聲，呼籲世人拋開成見、散播真愛關懷的TOP 40單曲《Where Is The Love》，還有嶄露快嘴饒舌步調的《Hands Up》，彷彿人聲樂器傳奇路易斯·阿姆斯壯（Louis Armstrong）唱法的歌曲《Smells Like Funk》，還有運用現場樂器、樂曲取樣、鼓器等配套結構。全新的節奏變裝佳作包括：與專輯銷售超白金的蟑螂老爹樂團（Papa Roach）合作的《Anxiety》，與葛萊美獎五項大獎新貴艾莉西亞·凱斯（Alicia Keys）合作的《Let’s Get Retarded》，取樣麥當娜（Madonna）成名作《Holiday》改編而成的趣味大作《Labor Day （It’s A Holiday）》，以及團員紀念在菲律賓過世的兄弟的歌曲《The apl Song》。黑眼豆豆合唱團人氣直竄，超級男孩賈斯汀跟克莉絲汀（Christina Aguilera）2003年夏季巡迴演唱會就邀請黑眼豆豆作為熱門嘉賓。可以看出，Black Eyed Peas並非一個單純的唱説組合，他們將多種音樂元素融合，創作出自己獨特的hip-hop風格，構成了非商業性嘻哈音樂的中流砥柱。
